Suicide

A devastating act that is completely preventable! Suicide is the 2nd leading cause of death in college-aged students. Overall, it is the 11th leading cause of death in the United States. As a survivor, those of us left to live after an act of suicide tend to face stigma, misconception, and judgment. Instead, the Jacob Crouch Foundation seeks to promote prevention, awareness, education, and support for those contemplating suicide, or for survivors who must learn to live after losing someone to suicide.

Mission Statement

"To establish suicide prevention, awareness and educational programs in Jacob's memory."

JCF began fulfilling its mission in November 2006 by taking our educational program into schools in the Acadiana area.  This program provides students with the tools necessary to help themselves or others who may be showing signs of potential at-risk behavior.  It has been proven that talking about suicide can only help those who are having those thoughts.
