FAQ’s for Sponsoring
What does Crouchstock support?
Crouchstock is the annual fundraiser for The Jacob Crouch Foundation whose mission is, “To establish suicide prevention and awareness through education in Jacob’s memory.”
What are the Jacob Crouch Foundations goals with my donation?
- Continue to sponsor Suicide Prevention Week (September 15th – 21st),
Which is a national day of recognition for anyone who has dealt with suicide.
- As of 2006, due to the progressive and proactive efforts of the Jacob Crouch Foundation, City Parish President has proclaimed that Lafayette Parish officially recognizes this week for suicide prevention for the Acadiana area. During this week JCF sponsors several advertising billboards in Lafayette Parish as well as awareness campaigns during this week specifically for the awareness and prevention of suicide.
- Fund billboard messages regarding the reality of suicide and national hot-line help number.
- Currently the Jacob Crouch Foundation has linked a local 337 number to a suicide prevention hotline, it is our goal to locate a call center in the Lafayette parish that will run 24 hours a day 7 days a week for the specific use of a suicide hotline that will be maintained and operated by local citizens.
- Maintain an informative website for survivors and information seekers
- The Jacob Crouch Foundation has created and continues to operate a website (www.injacobsmemory.org) for anyone seeking information about suicide, volunteer information, as well as any potential donations.
- JCF will continue to operate this website and adapt the site to the trends of young adults as the internet continues to be a great medium for reaching out to a broad group on individuals
- The Jacob Crouch Foundation is committed to covering the cost of Board members and Local area counselors that would like to be trained in the direct contact in dealing with individuals who are contemplating suicide.
- The training required is called ASSIST training and is required for anyone who wants to properly assist anyone dealing with suicide thoughts as this is obviously a delicate subject.
- Provide **ASSIST training to local school counselors
**Nationally recognized training program to deal with suicide
